In the Village of Bristol there will be two Village Trustee positions on the ballot for the Spring Election in 2026. Prior to announcing candidacy for municipal office of Village Trustee, you must file a Campaign Registration Statement in the Village Clerk's Office.
Pursuant to State Statute 8.10:
The first day for circulating nomination papers is December 1, 2025.
The deadline for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of January, which is Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Forms to be completed by the Candidate:
Campaign Registration Statement ~ Form CF-1
Nomination Papers ~ Form EL-69
Declaration of Candidacy ~ Form EL-162
Notification of Non-Candidacy ~ Form EL-163 (For an incumbent not seeking re-election to the same office)
Following the submittal of all necessary forms to the Village Clerk, the forms will be checked for validity. For each election, the Village Clerk will draw the candidates' names by lot for order placement on the ballot.
All candidates must meet the residency requirements established for the office to which they are seeking election.
IF ALL NECESSARY PAPERS ARE NOT TURNED IN BY THE DEADLINE, THE CANDIDATE WILL NOT BE PLACED ON THE BALLOT.
